How to Survive Physically and Mentally in a Stressful World

Over 2000 years ago, Chinese people in the Warring State Period suffered from endless wars and brutal governance. While Confucian philosophers such as Mencius resorted to the moral cultivation of the rulers, Zhuangzi was aware of the danger of it and showed ordinary individuals the way to survive under such harsh circumstances, both physically and mentally.
It seems impossible to maintain a peaceful mind and be free under extreme stress. Zhuangzi, however, demonstrated that possibility. Centuries passed by and the social conditions have become so different. But isn’t it also true that nowadays we still live under great stress and often feel anxious, as the people in the Warring State Period did?
In this sense, Zhuangzi is never out of date and his valuable insights could be helpful for everyone, regardless of their nationalities.
